POSITION: General Manager, Marketing
About the company:
Our Client is a pioneer multi-disciplinary professional real estate-based firm. It is a consortium of professionals comprised of Estate Surveyors, Valuer, Architects, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Town Planners and Project Managers all working under the same roof, “The House of Estates”. Our client business is established in 1992, having several core competencies which include; Valuation of Property, Plant & Machinery, Project Management, Property Design and Development, Cost Control and Advice, Investment Feasibility and Viability Appraisal and Estate Agency and Management.
Our client is currently going into further diversification and investment and is therefore seeking the services of a dynamic General Manager Marketing who is a goal oriented, achiever and a good team player to oversee the consortium marketing aspect of the business.
About the Role
As an ideal candidate, you’ll be a born leader, a generalist with excellent knowledge in sales and marketing aspect of the client business value chain and can coordinate processes and marketing operations across the organization various line of business. You’ll have proven managerial experience overseeing marketing operations and developing marketing strategies, in real estate and in the client various business portfolios which includes; Valuation of Property, Plant & Machinery, Project Management, Property Design and Development, Estate Agency and Management. You’re an expert communicator with a strong ability to delegate responsibilities and collaborate across a wide range of departments. Ultimately, you’re driven by the desire to lead a team toward maximum productivity and efficiency in achieving organization set goals and objectives.
The Right Fit for this role must have adequate knowledge in planning, developing and implementing marketing strategies that will support the consortium marketing goals and objectives in reaching their target and potential customers and clients.
Report to: Board of Directors
Supervise: Entire Marketing Team, Research and Development
Liaise with: GM Commercial, Legal & CS, New Business & Innovation, Estate Services, Collections Manager, Legal, Finance, New Business and Strategic Projects Head, Agency Business.
Job Location: Lagos
Role Objectives: Focusing on the business marketing objectives across the various business value chains, ensuring excellent services delivery to gain Customer satisfactions, setting performance metrics for the team to establish business sustainability standard while taking ownership of the entire marketing operations from strategy formulation to development and implementation.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-today operations, assigning weekly performance goals and assuring their completion, while accomplishing your own goals in supporting the marketing efforts of the organization.
- Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business for more profitability from the marketing perspectives.
- Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
- Provide direct leadership functions to the marketing team of the different business unit of the organization and their assigned job duties.
- Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted marketing goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement performance management metrics to encourage commitment and high-performing team members.
- Instill a culture within the entire organization to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed to promote customer service excellence and internal collaboration to achieve goals and maintain exceptional performance.
- Maintain and improve operational marketing principles to maximize level of service for continuous improvement of the marketing strategies.
- Work closely with all unit head to support programs that maximize revenue and increase sales and profitability for the organization.
- Review and improve organizational marketing performance effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing team performance, establishing a highly motivated work environment and culture, while creating innovative approaches for continuous improvement.
- Seek out opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new business relationships
- Provide guidance and feedback to help team members to strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas for performance improvement.
- Recruit, on-board, and train high-performing employees to achieve sales, profitability, market share, and business plan objectives
- Develop, implement, and maintain budgetary and resource allocation plans for the organization marketing efforts.
- Delegate responsibilities to the best employees to perform them while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values that support the organization marketing growth strategies.
- Perform SWOT analysis to determine the organization current capabilities, available competencies, weaknesses, available opportunities in our industry and the current challenges facing the organization in terms of resources both human and financial and develop control measures.
Skills, Knowledge and Competencies Requirement
- 10-15 years of relevant work experiences in marketing operations or similar role in Real Estate Sector
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize and to meet commitments
- Strong organizational, analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong marketing skills with excellent knowledge in developing and implementing marketing strategy that would promote sales and revenue generation across the entire business value chain.
- Excellent issues analysis, reporting and communication with interpersonal skill.
- Possessing skills in Leadership, team building, communication, decision making, problem solving, presentation, organizing, negotiation and persuasive skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive marketing issues including an excellent understanding of the principle of marketing in a competitive marketing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret financial statement, good understanding of budgetary and control analysis including the understanding of sales forecasting and the development of a workable marketing plan.
- Must possessed the required educational qualification with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to personalize the consortium vision and mission making it attainable in all aspect of the consortium business unit.
- Analytical ability is necessary for the analysis of marketing and sales performance records and data in developing workable marketing strategies as well as improving the existing marketing strategies to accommodate the current market realities.
Academic Qualifications
- University Degree in any related field.
- Professional Certification is a must in any of the client related business discipline,
- Master degree is an added advantage.
- Relevant training and experience is an added advantage.
